1 The 169 million voters of the BJP have gotten their party 282 seats The Congress has a respectable 105 million votes cast in its favour but gained just 44 seats

2 To secure the equivalent of the 51 odd percent seats they gained the BJP would have to get 252 million votes They got only 171 million votes  They should have gained only 168 odd seats .  The Congress on the other hand in a representative system should have gained 115 seats for its 106 million votes as opposed to the miserable 44 it actually got The BSP should have gained 22 seats in a representative system and AAP 11 seats instead of 4

3 The BSP has got 22 million votes (mostly in UP) but has failed to win even one seat

4 Together the Congress BSP Trinamul Congress  SP and CPIM have got 183  Million votes a good 14 million more then the BJP but they have secured only only 96 seats together
