These series of events may not have any links On the other hand they may be completely interconnected Only a detailed Commission of Inquiry by a senior retired Judge will throw some light on whether there are any links or not But these events did happen and they happened in this order The questions asked at the end are what such a Commission of Inquiry must ask and answer

Parts of the taped conversation
LT COL PUROHIT: Swamiji, we haven’t spoken about certain things, but two operations have been done by us. One of our own captains has visited Israel for training and meeting and there was a very positive response… we demanded four things from Israel ________ continuous and uninterrupted supply of arms and training, our office with a saffron flag in Tel Aviv, political asylum and support for our cause of a Hindu nation in the un._________ Israel has asked us to show something on the ground and have promised at least a supply of arms and political asylum ……….… I have a state-wise population of Muslims in each state but I have only three AK-47s. We couldn’t buy much earlier because we didn’t have funds.
A special MCOCA court on Wednesday remanded Dayanand Pandey, the “spiritual guru” picked up from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh for his alleged role in the Malegaon blast, in police custody till December 1. The ATS told special MCOCA judge YD Shinde that it had recovered “incriminating” materials, including a video-recording and three audio-recordings, from Dayanand Pandey’s laptop . The ATS claimed that it recovered the “voluminous materials” from the hard disk. Pandey had deleted the “materials” but the ATS got a “mirror image” of the hard disk from the Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) on Tuesday, special public prosecutor Rohini Salian said.

Gen V K Singh does have some Millitary Intel background too The Technical Services Division a secret unit set up by the Army’s Directorate General of Military Intelligence (DGMI) in May 2010, directly reported to Gen V K Singh . Gen V K Singh had taken over as Army Chief on March 31, 2010. The unit was disbanded in August 2012, after he retired on March 30, 2012. – It was headed by Col Munishwar Nath “Hunny” Bakshi, an officer of the Army’s intelligence corps, who had earlier served with Gen Singh at the Eastern Command Headquarters in Kolkata. The unit had four officers and 32 men; Rs 2.38 crore given to one Hakikat Singh on the orders of Army Headquarters. Hakikat Singh set up an NGO called Jammu and Kashmir Humanitarian Service Organisation, which was linked to Yes Kashmir, another NGO, which filed a PIL against then Army Commander Bikram Singh in the alleged fake encounter in Jangalat Mandi when Bikram Singh was a Brigadier. That PIL, which was later dismissed, was widely seen as an attempt to scuttle Bikram Singh’s appointment at the next Chief, and change the line of succession in the Army. –Source Indian Express

Tehelka in an article titled The Unturned Stone raised an important point about the role of Army Men in the Malegaon (and other) blasts TEHELKA first scooped and wrote about the tapes in 2008. Subsequently, a few other media organisations accessed and published parts of the tapes. However, through all this,at no point has there been sufficient focus on the army officers who figure on the (Pandey) tapes. They remain the big unturned stone in the investigation. THERE ARE A TOTAL OF EIGHT ARMY OFFICERS, RETIRED AND SERVING, NAMED IN THE (PANDEY)TAPES.
At least four of them have an MI background. Apart from Lt Col Purohit and Maj Upadhyay, who are now in jail, topping the list is Col (retd) Hasmukh Patel. A JNU graduate, Patel was commissioned into the Infantry Jat Regiment and later detailed with the MI. After 25 years in service, he retired in 2007 and joined Reliance . His LinkedIn profile says he is a specialist in threat analysis, background checks, physical- electronic-aviation security, vigilance, investigations, disaster management, negotiation and loss prevention. The NIA is understood to have questioned him recently but let him off under surveillance. Col Shailesh Raikar is a retired commandant. He is said to be a brilliant officer who belonged to the Maratha Regiment. According to the tapes, Raikar was commander of the Bhosla Military Academy in Nashik. He allegedly provided academy facilities to Purohit and other Abhinav Bharat members for weapons training. He too is under the NIA scanner. Others named in the tapes are Col Aditya Bappaditya Dhar (Parachute Regiment, now retired); Brig Mathur (full name not known, but he was apparently posted at Deolali Cantonment near Nashik); Maj Nitin Joshi and Maj Prayag Modak (in both cases, regiment not known).

From and Indian Express article The January night Raisina Hill was spooked: Two key Army units moved towards Delhi without notifying Govt
* On Jan 16, an entire unit of mechanised infantry based in Hisar with its fighting vehicles began moving towards Delhi. It parked near Najafgarh
* Sizeable section of the Agra-based 50 Para Brigade also moved to near Palam
* Both were stopped and ordered to be moved back
What Army says
* These were exercises to check effectiveness in fog
* Troops moved towards Delhi, not outward, westward since Pakistan hadn’t been notified
* The Paras were being moved to check out possibility of their “marrying” with the C-130s in Hindon
* Why wasn’t Ministry of Defence notified?
* Did the units have to come so far towards Delhi?
* Why was the IAF not informed?
Baseless reports, says Ministry of Defence
Defence Ministry spokesperson Sitanshu Kar:
“Such reports are completely baseless and we categorically deny the same.”
